Terra Nova casts 24 alum Mido Hamada
Geplaatst op 20 oktober 2010 00:07 door CavaleraMilo Hamada (24) has joined the cast of Terra Nova, Fox’s time-traveling drama that’ll get a special preview in May before returning to Fox’s schedule in the fall of 2011. Hamada will play Guzman, the head of a security team who also serves as a trusted advisor to Frank Taylor (Stephen Lang of Avatar). This will be a series regular role for Hamada, who played Samir Mehran on the last season of 24.
Besides Lang, Guzman joins the previously cast Jason O’Mara (Life on Mars) as Jim Shannon and Allison Miller (Boston Legal) as Skye.
Fox decided to give the high-concept drama from the auspices of Brannon Braga (24) and Steven Spielberg the same treatment it gave Glee, which was previewed last year after a May episode of American Idol and subsequently rolled out officially in the fall of 2009. The experiment worked: Buzz for the musical dramedy built over the summer and the show had an auspicious beginning.
Filming on Terra Nova isn’t expected to start until next month in Australia. The high-concept series takes place 100 years in the future and focuses on a family that travels back to the prehistoric era. It’s also executive produced by ex-Fox Chairman Peter Chernin, agent-turned-producer Aaron Kaplan, Craig Silverstein (Bones), and Kelly Marcel.
