This animated series follows the adventures of the superhero team The Avengers - primarily consisting of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, the Hulk, Ant-Man (a.k.a. Giant-Man), Wasp, Hawkeye, and the Black Panther - as they team up to save the world from dangers far too great for one superhero to handle alone. The Avengers frequently work with S.H.I.E.L.D., a peacekeeping agency run by Nick Fury (while the two aren't competing to save the world by their own means, which are often quite different).

The Enchantress, as part of her master Surtur's plan, offers Loki a chance to exact his revenge on Thor and the Avengers for thwarting his conquest of the Nine Realms, and uses a spell to strip Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man of their powers. Now, the helpless heroes must defeat Loki - his soul now in command of a powerful Asgardian weapon known as the Destroyer - without their abilities. NOTE: This episode was skipped in US airings, but included on the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes boxed volume Secret Invasion as a bonus episode. Marvel released a clip of the episode, adding that it is "an un-aired episode available exclusively" on the DVD. This episode is part of the regular airing schedule on ABC Australia, and eventually broadcast on Disney XD in the US on May 5, 2013.
