Amerikaanse drama TV serie over een team van medisch specialisten van het nationaal gezondheidsinstituut centraal. Zij worden bij elkaar geroepen bij medische noodtoestanden als dodelijke virusuitbraken en mysterieuze sterfge- vallen. Het interventieteam van het ‘National Institutes of Health’ wordt in Medical Investigation ingeschakeld om angstaanjagende en onbekende ziektes te bestrijden. Ze krijgen van de overheid carte blanche om te doen wat ze moeten doen in noodsituaties om zo het uitbreken van epidemieën en plagen te voorkomen. Dokter Stephen Connor, is het hoofd van het team en draagt de zware last om het algemeen welzijn van de burgers te garanderen.

Elsewhere, the people at Mission La Roca (Miles, Connor, Powell, Nestor, Juan, Kris, and Baracas) make it out before the church collapses, and take the sick ones off to the hospital for treatment.
