FOX Renews 'Lie to Me'

Fox has renewed the crime drama "Lie to Me," which stars Tim Roth as a human lie detector.

The midseason series received a 13-episode second-season order from the network Tuesday.

Fox also is boosting the show's producing team, with Shawn Ryan joining as executive producer/showrunner. Ryan already had been lending a hand behind the scenes during the first season.

Despite his expanded duties on "Lie," Ryan remains committed to CBS' "The Unit," which he also executive produces and runs.

Ryan is accustomed to running two shows simultaneously. He did it for several years with "The Unit" and his FX drama "The Shield."
