ABC renews 'Castle'

Series performing well in 10 p.m. hour

Coming off Monday night's series-high performance, ABC has renewed 'Castle" for 22 episodes.

In an unsurprising move, the network has given ABC Studios production a third season.

The Nathan Fillion detective drama has been gathering strength on Monday nights, especially when paired with reality powerhouse "Dancing With the Stars."

“Castle” marks a rare success in the 10 p.m. hour for a relatively new program, a time period that’s been increasingly difficult for networks to program.
